PRIX FIXE SPECIAL EVENTS

1.  M-I-N-N-P-O-S-T COOKS
An unforgettable evening at an extraordinary Manitou Island/White Bear Lake home. Starting with martinis and wrapping up with tiramisu, drinks and dinner courses will spell out MinnPost. Chefs and helpers are MinnPost writers and editors. Uncle Al Sicherman will challenge foodies with trivia questions between dinner and dessert. Date TBD. Boomerang House2.  SIMPLY SUSTAINABLE
Bill Conway, FAIA and professor of architecture at the U of M, will lead a tour of his award-winning “Boomerang House” completed in 2009.  Lakeside Edina home and surrounding native prairie landscape are all designed for sustainable living. Home has won two national design awards + 2010 Minnesota RAVE (Residential Architects Vision and Excellence) award for a new home under 3500 square feet. Bill will discuss links between design, sustainability and lifestyle. Local/organic appetizers/wine/beer served. Date TBD. 25 spots, $30 per person.

Max Tour3. MUSICAL MINNEAPOLIS
A behind-the-scenes bus tour led by MinnPost arts blogger Max (Bunny) Sparber will take you to sites connected with Dylan, Prince, The Replacements, Husker Du, etc. Enjoy finger food, wine, beer and Sparber-style commentary while you ride. Date TBD. 21 spots, $45 per person.

Doug Grow4. GROW ON DAYTON
MinnPost journalist Doug Grow and his wife will be featured guests for an outdoor dinner at a lakeside home in Golden Valley. Doug, former longtime metro columnist for the Star Tribune, will talk about insights derived from covering Gov. Dayton for MinnPost. Date TBD. 10 spots, $75 per person ($125 for two).

5. ZOË BAKES AND YOU CAN TOO                             
Zoë Francois, celebrated bread and pastry chef and cook book co-author, will teach you recipes from her new book due out this fall, Pizza and Flatbreads in Five Minutes a Day. Date TBD. 8 spots, $75 per person. Includes a copy of Zoe’s new book for each participant.
