Writer P.J. O’Rourke is expected to have conservatives and libertarians rolling in the aisles Tuesday night at Northrop Auditorium. The satirist, who is the author of such best sellers as “Parliament of Whores,” is speaking at an event sponsored by the Twin Cities Chapter of Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).
Such conservative organizations as the Taxpayers League of Minnesota, the Federalist Society of the University’s Law School and College Republicans of Minnesota are among a long list of co-sponsors.
O’Rourke, who has come up with such lines as “giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys,” will be preceded at the podium by Phil Krinkie, who was known as “Dr. No” when he was a Minnesota legislator. Krinkie now is president of the Taxpayers League.
There is no charge (or tax or fee) for the event, which begins at 7 p.m.
