House to debate health care bill today

The House will take up House File 3391, the “Comprehensive Health Care Reform Bill,”  at a floor session that will begin sometime after noon today.
The chief author is Thomas Huntley, a DFLer from Duluth. Eight other House members have signed on. In a “bill brief” summary of the bill, which itself is a massive file, the fiscal impact is listed as $43.6 million in fiscal year 2009 and $225 million in 2010-11.

Underneath that line the brief reads “Controversial: Very.” In other words, expect fireworks, posturing and a long debate.
