Obviously, more and more people are learning his name. Ashwin Madia,  the “unknown”  who won DFL endorsement for the 3rd District congressional race over Terri Bonoff last week, has picked up another important win: He’s one of the candidates who will receive financial support from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red to Blue Program.

In 2004, the Red to Blue Program raised $7.5 million for 24 congressional races nationwide. In 2006, $22.6 million was raised for 56 campaigns.

Madia will be matched against Republican Erik Paulsen in the November race to succeed retiring Jim Ramstad. Paulsen will become the officially endorsed candidate on Saturday. Republicans have a 50-year winning streak in the district.
