The Capitol press corps is settling in to await word of any budget agreement.

Capitol reporters have set up a semi-permanent headquarters, of sorts, just outside the governor’s office in the Capitol. Some have brought camp chairs; others have scavenged folding chairs.

The benches, they say, are too hard for long-term coverage. As they say: The waiting is the hardest part.

Legislative leaders have been shuttling in and out of the governor’s office this afternoon, and there’s speculation that an overall budget agreement may be announced so the major spending bills can be passed soon to end the session on time.
