Never heard of Monocle, that British magazine that covers global politics, current affairs and fashion?

That doesn’t matter. Monocle has heard of us.

In fact, the magazine has ranked Minneapolis the 19th most livable  city IN THE WORLD!  Our place is one of only two U.S. cities on the Monocle list. Honolulu, at No. 12, is the other.

The ranking weighed such factors as arts, cultural institutions, festivals and environmentalism. It also noted the city’s near-completion of  a wireless broadband network and our “brightness” quotient (we have more sunshine per day than all but four of the top 20 cities).

Copehagen, Munich and Tokyo top the list, but word is they’re looking over their shoulders.
