Flap over paying gas taxes sideswipes Denver host committee; Ron Paul grabs GOP’s political spotlight

Members of the host committee for the Democratic National Convention are involved in a flap over not having to pay state and federal gas taxes by filling their car gas tanks at city-owned gas pumps. The practice, which had been in place since March, drew criticism at Tuesday’s Denver City Council meeting. By the end of the day, the Denver Host Committee had agreed to pay all applicable taxes.
