Activist groups in Denver City are incensed about what TV’s 9News dubs a “secret jail” that authorities have put together to deal with unruly protesters at the Democratic National Convention. The groups “say the converted warehouse poses a threat to civil liberties,” the TV station reports, while “The city maintains the facility is needed in case of mass arrests.” Activists have dubbed called the makeshift holding center “Gitmo on the Platte.”
