Here’s where to find your political allies for election night parties

It’s never too early to plan for election night, even if it’s only to celebrate that it’s finally over.

For those who want to get out Nov. 4 and watch the returns with like-minded folks and partake in the pomp, here’s a roundup of the planned party parties:

GOP: Reservations have been made for the Republicans at the Sheraton Bloomington; the hotel says the ballrooms and other rooms have been reserved, but it is still considered tentative. Local John McCain supporters plan to gather there, along with Sen. Norm Coleman’s faithful and other Republican candidates.

DFL: They’ll be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, at Kellogg Boulevard and Wabasha Street in downtown St. Paul. Obama backers and Franken’s team will be there, along with many other DFL office seekers.

Independence Party:
Dean Barkley’s office says he’ll be with the Independence Party supporters at the Sheraton Minneapolis West, near Ridgedale in Minnetonka.
