Latest Coleman-Franken recount numbers: Norm’s lead grows to 215

 Make that 215, not 206.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said today that, following a random audit of voting machines in 200 of the state’s precincts, Sen. Norm Coleman’s lead over challenger Al Franken has grown by nine votes.

Under law, Ritchie’s office conducts such an audit to test the reliability of voting equipment.

Those 200 precincts statewide account for less than 5 percent of the state’s 4,130 precincts.

That 215-vote gap is what’s expected to be presented to the State Canvassing Board Tuesday, small enough to trigger a mandated hand recount.
