Veteran political organizer Jeff Blodgett to talk about his new book

Jeff Blodgett, who was Minnesota state director for Barack Obama’s campaign but may be better known as an aide and campaign manager for the late Sen. Paul Wellstone, will talk about his new book Thursday in Minneapolis.

“Winning Your Election the Wellstone Way: A Comprehensive Guide for Candidates and Campaign Workers” includes case studies and step-by-step guides to effectively running a campaign for public office. It’s billed as a how-to for those volunteering for a political candidate, working for a campaign or running for public office.

In addition to working on Wellstone’s three election campaigns, Blodgett has worked on dozens of others, including Sen. Amy Klobuchar’s 2006 Senate campaign.

Blodgett will be at Magers & Quinn Booksellers, 3038 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. He’s also expected to offer some post-election thoughts on Obama’s victory.
