Oberstar readying job creation plan for infrastructure

U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar is ready for the new administration to get busy on a job creation plan.

The northern Minnesota congressman, who is chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, has a bill ready that would send $45 billion to states for road, bridge, aviation, maritime and sewer projects, reports the Duluth News Tribune.

Obama has called for Congress to pass a jobs program early next year, with an aim of creating and saving 2.5 million jobs over the next two years.

Oberstar says his plan could create 7,000 jobs in Minnesota alone.
