Pawlenty among governors meeting this morning with Obama

Gov. Tim Pawlenty is among governors meeting this morning with President-elect Barack Obama in Philadelphia. They are there, too, discussing the challenges facing states during the economic downturn.

The governors want more money directed their way.

Vice President-elect Joe Biden is there, too.

The media were not invited to the gathering at Congress Hall, but at 10:45 a.m. our time, the governors will talk with the press to discuss the meeting, and at 1:30 p.m. Pawlenty will have a conference call with Minnesota reporters whose newsroom budgets did not allow them to make the trip.

Then it’s off to Denver for the governor, who will speak at the Education Commission of the States’ Steering Committee Meeting fall dinner, “Taking Up the Challenge: Linking Education, Workforce and Economic Development.”
