Robbinsdale district to weigh future of three schools

Two elementary schools and one middle school in Robbinsdale could be considered for closing because of declining enrollment, the school board was told Saturday.

A study presented to the board indicated that while the district retains existing students well, the enrollment of incoming kindergarteners keeps dropping each year and will lead to a continuing enrollment decline.

Two public meetings to discuss the report are scheduled:

• Dec. 16, 7 p.m., at Plymouth Middle School

• Dec. 18, 7 p.m., at Robbinsdale Middle School.

Such sessions usually proved interesting because few want the schools that their kids attend to close.
