Two new members have been named to the Metropolitan Airports Commission by Gov. Tim Pawlenty. He also reappointed three members.
John J. McDonald Jr. of Mendota Heights and Donald P. Monaco of Duluth are the new members; reappointed were Lisa Lebedoff Peilen, Andy Westerberg, and John M. Williams.
All will serve four-year terms.
McDonald is an attorney and partner with the Minneapolis law firm of Meagher and Geer, where he practices in commercial litigation, employment practices, insurance and professional liability. He replaces Tom Foley on the MAC.
Monaco owns Monaco Air Duluth, LLC, a full-service, fixed-base operator at the Duluth International Airport that provides services to airlines, military, and general aviation customers. He replaces Robert Mars Jr. as a member representing intermediate airport systems.
Peilen of St. Louis Park is the director of municipal affairs with the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association.
Westerberg of Blaine, the owner of a Famers Insurance agency in Coon Rapids, served four terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Williams of Minneapolis has practiced dentistry in North Minneapolis for 29 years. A former professional football player, he is a co-founder of PANDA (Prevent Abuse and Neglect through Dental Awareness).
