Coleman-Franken trial: Decisions coming soon, real soon

At the start of court this morning in the Al Franken-Norm Coleman election contest, Judge Elizabeth Hayden announced the three-judge panel will not hear testimony Friday afternoon but, rather, will be working on writing major orders.

At the start of court this morning in the Al Franken-Norm Coleman election contest, Judge Elizabeth Hayden announced the three-judge panel will not hear testimony Friday afternoon but, rather, will be working on writing major orders.

She and Judges Denise Reilly and Kurt Marben also will be available to lawyers on both sides Monday morning, Hayden said, to discuss court orders and how the trial will proceed, with testimony resuming Monday afternoon.

Of course, there are major arguments in the case this afternoon about narrowing the scope of ballots to be considered in the case.

Hayden’s announcement sure makes it sound as if the judges will be ruling on that by the end of the day Friday or first thing Monday.
