A holiday lights display in St. Paul raised $50,000, which will be distributed to four local charities.
The lights brightened Phalen Park on St. Paul’s East Side from Thanksgiving to New Year’s; people paid to see the lights and animated displays, which were put together by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and King of Kings Church in Woodbury.
Organizers said 11,000 vehicles, with more than 40,000 people, drove through the light display.
Funds raised by the lights display went to Second Harvest Heartland, Union Gospel Mission, St. Paul Parks Conservancy Foundation and Under Construction, a student trades group.
Organizers said they’ll do it again next holiday season.
