GOP senator threatens ‘World War III’ if Senate tries to seat Franken before Coleman federal appeal

“Texas Sen. John Cornyn is threatening ‘World War III’ if Democrats try to seat Al Franken in the Senate before Norm Coleman can pursue his case through the federal courts,” Politico is reporting today.

Cornyn, chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, acknowledges that a federal challenge could take “years” to resolve, the site said. But he said Coleman deserves that chance — even if it means Minnesota is short a senator for the duration.

Imagine if this were reversed and the Republican candidate had a lead and the Democratic candidate was pursuing–for months–every delaying tactic his lawyers can dredge up. Oh, the hysteria!
These Republicans really don’t care what happens to this country as long as they get their way in blocking anything that might help this country–via the Democrats.
I hope Minnesota citizens–and others–remember Coleman’s and the Republican’s tactics in trying to block Franken from taking his duly won Senate seat.
