Heeding state department warnings to avoid non-essential travel to Mexico because of the swine flu outbreak, Minnesota State University in Mankato has canceled its study abroad programs to Mexico,

The university has asked its three students currently studying in Mexico to “return home immediately.” Six other students who were to study in Mexico this summer are making alternate study arrangements, reports the Mankato Free Press.

“None of the three returning students have flu symptoms, and all have taken precautions to avoid contact with the virus,” a university-issued statement said.
