Speeding I-35W driver injures Rep. Wagenius on her way home from late-night legislative session

Rep. Jean Wagenius, DFL-Minneapolis, was injured early Friday morning, when the car she was driving was rear-ended by a speeding vehicle on I-35W as the legislator was headed home following a late-night floor session.

The veteran legislator was taken to a hospital and then released. She was recovering at her home when Friday morning’s session opened.

There was no word on the extent of her injuries.

House spokesmen said that the driver of the car that crashed into Wagenius after 1:30 a.m. was arrested on the scene and was believed to be drunk.
