Democrats, too, respond to Pawlenty announcement of ‘No more years’

Tons of quotes and speculation in the daily press from and about Republican likelies for the 2010 governor’s race, now that Tim P. is officially out, but Mary Lahammer at TPT rounded up some quotes from some on the long list of DFLers expected to vie for the job.

Democrats who want his job reacted in droves. Ramsey County Attorney Susan Gaertner said “Minnesotans can now make a fresh start with new players and a clean slate. Indeed, we must join together and restore fiscal integrity, fair and balanced budgeting principles, and put Minnesota on track for the brighter future that our children and grandchildren deserve.” Rep. Paul Thissen added “But this race has never been about whether governor Pawlenty is running or not — it’s about what’s best for the future of Minnesota and I look forward to bringing that message to every corner of the state.” Former Minority Leader Matt Entenza said “my campaign for governor is about a new vision for Minnesota, one of making Minnesota work again by embracing the clean energy economy and providing the best education in the nation for our kids.”
