The National League of Cities has winnowed the entries for this year’s Municipal Excellence awards and reports that Hopkins and Burnsville are among the 34 finalists.
Burnsville was selected from entries for cities of 50,001 to 150,000 population for its Surface Water Treatment Plant project.
Hopkins is in the under 50,000 population category with its Blake Road Corridor Project.
The NLC says the awards “showcase outstanding city and town programs that improve the quality of life in America’s communities. Winners of this award exemplify excellence in city governance, best practices in municipal policy, and established model programs that improve the lives of their citizens.”
Winners will be announced in San Antonio at the NLC’s Congress of Cities Conference and Exposition Nov. 10-14.
