AFSCME Council 65 — which represents 13,000 city and county employees, hospital and nursing home employees, and school and social-service-agency employees around the state — said today that it has endorsed DFL state Sen. Tarryl Clark in her race against Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann in the 6th District.
Steve Preble, AFSCME Council 65 executive director, said: “When an LPN or a snow plow driver loses their health insurance or gets laid off, they don’t ask how many television talk shows their Congressional representative has appeared on. They want to know what their representative has done to help ensure they have a job and medical care for their kids when they need it. Tarryl Clark understands this and that’s why our Executive Board voted unanimously to endorse her.”
Last week, the larger AFSCME Council 5 endorsed Clark.
Isn’t council 65 twice the size of five?
