Congressman (Command Sgt. Major, ret.) Walz to speak at Legion convention in Louisville

U.S. Rep. Tim Walz, who served in the Army National Guard for 24 years and retired as a command sergeant major, will give a keynote address Wednesday at the American Legion’s annual convention in Louisville.

The 1st District congressman’s staff says he’s the highest-ranking enlisted soldier ever to serve in Congress.

They say his speech will “focus on the need to do right by all of our veterans, including returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, older veterans and female veterans by implementing policies like seamless transition.”

Check for CSPAN scheduling. They should give equal opportunity, as they televised the address of President Obama at the recent VFW convention.

Congressman Walz meets with real people in live public forums, so he understands their perspectives from being in the same room and LISTENING to constituents, including veterans and women veterans that met with him and his staff this month.

Representative government still lives in Minnesota!
