Progressive activists and politicians from around the country are meeting in Duluth this week at the Commonweal Institute’s 2009 Progressive Roundtable.
Their goal: to identify “common strategies for progressive movement building, defining innovative and effective practices for coordination between idea generators and movement actors in effecting policy change, and establishing ongoing mechanisms for developing and refining those relationships.”
Their hope: “More effective policy advocacy processes at state and local levels, which will propel the continued momentum of the progressive movement.”
Al Franken addressed the group Sunday night. The meeting runs through Wednesday.
Their sole agenda is an almost complete dumping of the constitution and bill of rights. A Utopian atmosphere much like the former USSR. Where government is the end all stop for everyone’s needs and nobody has more than anyone else.
