St. Paul City Attorney John Choi is scheduled to officially announce today his long-expected entry into the Ramsey County attorney’s race.

Incumbent County Attorney Susan Gaertner is not running for re-election; instead, she’s running for governor.

The announcement is at noon today at Skyline Towers, the high-rise at 1247 St. Anthony Ave That’s where his family first lived when they came to the United States from South Korea when Choi was 3.

Other announced candidates are Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Dave Pinto and David Schultz, a lawyer in private practice.
