Legislators to hear details on health, insurance programs

Some technical details on specific health care and insurance programs will be discussed today at the Capitol.

The House Health Care and Human Services Policy and Oversight Committee will meet at 1 p.m. to hear updates from the Department of Human Services on Minnesota’s State Access Health Program Grant, average wholesale price changes and Minnesota Health Care Programs pharmacy reimbursement.

Legislators also will discuss characteristics of the state’s high-risk health insurance pool, the Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association.

Also on the agenda:

• Racial disparities and the socioeconomic determinants of health.
• Poverty in Minnesota.

The meeting will be streamed live by House Public Information Services.
