St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will kick off his second term with an inauguration bash Jan. 4 at the downtown Union Depot.

The inauguration ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. in the depot’s headhouse — unless they get too many RSVPs, in which case it may be moved somewhere larger — with the party following from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Scheduled entertainers are the Honeydogs, Pigs Eye City Council and other local musicians.

The event is free and open to everyone, but because of the limited space, organziers are asking for RSVPs via email to mayor@stpaul.gov/.  There will be hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar at the party.

Coleman was easily elected to a second four-year term in November, and although he’d been toying with the idea of a run for governor, he surprised many of us in October when he dropped out of that race (which he’d never officially entered).
