Metropolitan Council Chair Peter Bell will hold a State of the Region event Monday, Feb. 1, at the new Silverwood Park in St. Anthony.
He’ll discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the area in lots of categories: The Met Council runs the local bus and light rail system, collects and treats waste water, manages regional water resources, plans regional parks and administers funds that provide housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals and families.
I suppose people can stand and clap when they approve of his plans.
He’ll also release the council’s 2009 annual report at the free program, which starts at 10 a.m. People can register online or call 651-602-1844.
