Rep. Kline endorses Republican Parry in state Senate special election

U.S. Rep. John Kline joined the parade of endorsements in the special state Senate election to be held Jan. 26 in the Owatonna/Faribault area.

U.S. Rep. John Kline joined the parade of endorsements in the special state Senate election to be held Jan. 26 in the Owatonna/Faribault area. No surprise, he supports fellow Republican Mike Parry in the race to fill the seat of Dick Day, who left to become a lobbyist.

Said Kline: “Minnesotans have grown weary of job-killing tax increase after job-killing tax increase. Mike Parry is someone we can count on to reverse the explosive growth of government, get our economy back on track, and put Minnesotans back to work.”

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann endorsed Parry Wednesday; Gov. Tim Pawlenty is on the Parry wagon, too.

On the DFL side, candidate Jason Engbrecht got door-knocking support from Sen. Al Franken, with Minneapolis Mayor R.R. Rybak and House Speaker Margaret Anderson Kelliher scheduled to drive down I-35 this weekend to help out.

Republican Mike Parry’s report says he raised $16,961 and has $8,606 left in the bank. Parry reports receiving two contributions that total $950 since he filed his report.

Independence Party candidate Roy Srp reports raising $4602 and has $4,432 in the bank.
