The Twin Cities will have some high-powered builders on hand this fall, when former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, come to town to work on 20 homes with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity.

The 27th annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project will be Oct. 4-8, when the Carters will help build, renovate and repair 10 homes in North Minneapolis and 10 on St. Paul’s East Side, two areas particularly hard hit by the struggling economy and foreclosure crisis.

More details on the project will be released Tuesday.
