Margaret Anderson Kelliher has been endorsed in her gubernatorial run by the Laborers District Council of Minnesota, which has 10,500 members, the Star Tribune reports this morning.

The DFL House speaker has the party endorsement but still faces a tough three-way race in the Aug. 10 primary. She’ll announce the Laborers endorsement later today in St. Cloud, the paper says. That adds to Kelliher’s support from other major unions, including teachers, nurses and professional state employees.

Mark Dayton, though, is endorsed by AFSCME, another state employees union, the steelworkers union, the police and peace officers union and Teamsters Joint Council 32.

As the Strib wryly notes, her other challenger, Matt Entenza, “doesn’t have major support from unions but has other resources to draw upon in his bid.” That would mean: lots o’ money.
