U of M Rochester needs a mascot — what should it be?

The  University of Minnesota Rochester wants help choosing its new mascot.

Choices have been narrowed to the Falcons, Trailblazers, Griffins, Raptors or Novas.

The school doesn’t have any sports teams — although it does have a ballroom dance team — but the mascot will be used on clothing, billboards, general marketing materials, publications and in UMR intramural sports, officials say.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin says that to vote on your choice, e-mail, or text “UMR” to 82942 and respond to the text reply. Or you can post your preferences on UMR’s Facebook wall.

The public voting will continue until July 9, when the top three finalists will be turned over to UMR students to make a final selection.

Should be something that relates locally. Is “The Phighting Physicians” in use elsewhere?

I was thinking of something like “Ringworm Rebels” or “Titan Tapeworms”.
