Rep. Marty Seifert at home after short hospital stay

State Rep.

State Rep. Marty Seifert, R-Marshall, is back home, resting, after being hospitalized Tuesday in Marshall for intense pain and shortness of breath.

That update came Wednesday night from Kevin Watterson, director of public affairs for the House GOP Caucus.

Seifert had been admitted to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center, and tests showed fluid had built up in his left lung, possibly related to pneumonia.

Seifert was a contender for the Republican nomination for governor until state Rep. Tom Emmer won the party endorsement in April. Seifert served 14 years in the state House but is not seeking re-election this year.
