Susie Brown, currently executive director of Child Care WORKS, will take over this fall as public policy director for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits.
She replaces longtime public policy director Marcia Avner, who is retiring but will remain as a senior fellow at MCN.
Brown has been an MCN board member but will step down from that role to take the staff job.
Brown also previously worked as public policy director for Family & Children’s Service and in several roles with Planned Parenthood in Connecticut and Vermont. She teaches nonprofit management and public policy in the Masters of Nonprofit Management Program at Hamline University School of Business.
MCN says its role is: “Through its Web site, resource publications, workshops and events, cost-saving programs and advocacy, MCN continually works to inform, promote, connect and strengthen individual nonprofits and the nonprofit sector.”
