Mark Dayton raps GOP ‘trackers’ for over-aggressive tactics

DFL gubernatorial candidate Mark Dayton in a news conference this afternoon charged that video-camera operators for the Republican Party “intimidated” citizens seeking to meet with him at Game Fair last weekend.

His campaign called for an end to in-your-face “tracking” by political operatives.

The Republicans quickly responded, saying “tracking” — in which one party seeks to find the opponent in a “gotcha” moment — is part of modern politics and rejected Dayton’s call.

Shouldn’t Dayton’s caregivers encourage him to pace himself a little? If he keeps this pace up, he won’t have any tears left to squirt when the vote totals come in.

It’s OK — Emmer will be glad to lend him some.

I agree with Mark Dayton. This tracking has gotten out of hand. I realize politics has always been dirty, and that people tend to forget that the candidates are also people. Could you imagine a campaign or a political discussion without the usually attendant curled lip of derision? Respect and dignity should be present regardless of the political affiliation. I want to know what a candidates stand is on the issues, not see an unguarded moment, an oops, or an awkward facial expression.

Tears? Tom seems to think that by some miracle Tom Emmer is going to get elected, simply by GOP attacks on Dayton. It isn’t going to work, Tom. And anyone who actually looks at the video can figure out why.

And how do you feel about Tom Emmer’s position on the F rating of Dayton because he voted AGAINST cop killer bullets? You can bet Mr. Emmer won’t bring that up again. Unfortunately for Mr. Emmer there are so many subjects like this, that he can’t talk about, that there is almost nothing left!

Of course there is always his budget. Are we still going to see that in October?
