The Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund, which gives cash grants to soldiers in combat zones, hosts  a “Say Thanks Day”  Saturday at Harriet Island in St. Paul.

There’s a 5K run, a 2-mile walk at 10 a.m., and a picnic. There’ll be live music at 2 p.m. featuring country artist Rockie Lynne.

Organizers say it’s a chance to say thanks and shake the hands of Minnesota troops.

Service members and their families are free. The public is invited: Ticket prices are $25 for the run or walk and concert; $15 for the concert only. Children under 12 are free.
