The new airport parking ramp at the Humphrey Terminal (Terminal 2, as it’s now known) has won an award from the International Parking Institute based in Fredericksburg, Va.
Who knew parking ramps could win awards? As the institute points out: “Parking is a $25 billion industry that impacts every aspect of our daily lives.”
The MSP Value Parking ramp (the Orange Ramp) won an award of merit from the group. The 4,575-space ramp opened at Terminal 2 in 2009.
The parking institute previously gave MSP parking facilities two “Awards for Excellence:” in 2008 for SurePark real-time parking availability program and in 2005 for ePark automated parking payment system.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission notes that the Humphrey Orange ramp also received a “Seven Wonders of Engineering Award” from the Minnesota Society of Professional Engineers.
Also, MAC and its public relations firm, Padilla Speer Beardsley, recently received a “Classics Award” from the Minnesota Public Relations Society of America, for a video promoting MSP Value Parking.
