Pawlenty’s book cover photo shot at Frontenac State Park

Courage to Stand

Inquiring minds at the Rochester Post-Bulletin have figured out where the photo for the cover of Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s upcoming book, “Courage to Stand,” was taken — Frontenac State Park near Red Wing.

A reporter at the paper had noticed Pawlenty posing for photos at the park a few months ago, but the governor’s office wouldn’t say what the photos were planned for. When the newsroom saw the book cover, though, it was clear.

The cover “features the governor standing on the bluff with Lake Pepin in the background and a tough, determined look on his face,” the paper says.

“Courage to Stand”? With no disrespect to disabled folks, it sounds like one of those inspirational books about someone overcoming a physical disability. But I can certainly understand why it isn’t titled “Courage to Govern.” That never seemed to be in Mr Pawlenty’s skill set.
