Dayton campaign says MN Forward ad distorts his record

Even as MN Forward’s latest TV commercial blasting DFL candidate Mark Dayton was initially airing, Dayton’s campaign responded.

Said Dayton Deputy Campaign Manager Katie Tinucci: “The big corporate special interest money that is also supporting their friends, Tom Emmer and Tom Horner, is once again distorting Mark Dayton’s record and trying to scare Minnesotans away from him. This is just further proof that Mark stands with the people of Minnesota, not the big corporate interests.” 

The commercial restates a charge Dayton has previously denied, that he supports an “email tax.” Not true, Tinucci said.

    He supported the e-mail tax; before he didn’t.

    I see Tom’s at it again, swiftly.

    Funny ad. A notable omission is the mention of Tom Emmer’s name.

    But when you have no plans – that you are willing to share with voters – then I guess you have to keep Tom Emmer under wraps.

    This is becoming increasingly difficult to do.

    Sure, Dayton is BAD. Elect his opponent? The voters have a right to know WHY they should vote for Emmer. And they shouldn’t have to wait until right before the election to find out… What are you going to cut, Tom? Or should we just trust you, like we trusted ‘Paw?

    But sure, Tom, Dayton is a terrible guy, just terrible…

    He’s not terrible, Bill. He’s just a very confused, troubled, trust fund baby looking for something to do.

    Personally I’d have suggested yachting; I think Mark would look fabulous in a captain’s hat and ascot, don’t you?
