New commuter bus line to run from northeast metro to downtown St. Paul

Starting Oct. 18, a new bus line will carry commuters on coach buses from the northeast exurbs into downtown St. Paul.

This addition to the Rush Line corridor will have four scheduled buses start each morning at the Running Aces Harness Track in Columbus, just across I-35 from Forest Lake. It will also stop at the White Bear Township Theaters before heading into downtown St. Paul. Four buses will go the other way in the evening.

Cost will be $3 one way; it’ll take about one hour from Columbus to St. Paul. About 100 to 150 people are predicted to use the service initially. They’re talking about adding other stops in Lino Lakes or Hugo, and Vadnais Heights.
