YouTube video promotes Pawlenty’s upcoming book

Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s book, “Courage to Stand,” won’t be on the shelves until Jan. 1, but his publisher, Tyndale House Publishing, already has put up a promotional video on YouTube.

Thirty seven people had watched it this morning when I checked at 9:40 a.m.; by 10 a.m. it was up to 45. Not viral yet, but it’s early.

The video starts boldly with: “Sometimes it just takes one man to have the ‘Courage to Stand.’ “

With good lighting and dramatic music, the governor then tells his regular story about his upbringing in South St. Paul and segues into how he led a “transformational change in Minnesota in the area of taxes and spending and education reform and health care reform, and when you tee up change and face big battles, you learn some things …”

He explains that he wrote the book because: “My story is the story of the American dream, and I wanted to affirm that.”

The book can be pre-ordered at Amazon for $18.21, a big savings from the cover price of $26.99.
