Is it possible that the Republican Party can get any angrier at former Gov. Arne Carlson?

The ol’ GOP guv first came out for Independence Party candidate Tom Horner. Then, he announced his support for Democrat Tim Walz in the 1st District congressional race Republicans have so dearly wanted to win with their candidate, Randy Demmer.

Now, Carlson’s doing it again. In a commercial that is to be released today during the “Monday Night Football” game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, Carlson is supporting incumbent Sen. Terri Bonoff in the DFLer’s District 43 Senate race against Norann Dillon.

The Bonoff spot, purchased through Comcast cable, will go to cable-only subscribers in Minnetonka and Plymouth.

It should be noted that Carlson hasn’t totally forgotten his party. He has endorsed incumbent Erik Paulsen in the 3rd District congressional race. Paulsen is opposed by Democrat Jim Meffert.

The Bonoff ad buy is not one of those multimillion-dollar deals we hear so much about this campaign season. Each zone costs $600, meaning she’s investing $1,200 in the buy.
