Dayton looking for Hmong voters on St. Paul’s East Side

DFL candidate for governor Mark Dayton will make a push to engage Hmong voters at a Saturday event on St. Paul’s East Side.

The Hmong community — with 70,000 members in Minnesota — is losing its only two state legislators this year, because state Sen. Mee Moua and Rep. Cy Thao are not seeking reelection.

Dayton will appear at a 9 a.m. rally Saturday at the Hmong American Partnership office, 1075 Arcade St., St. Paul.

Dayton is scheduled to speak at 10 a.m. With him will be DFL candidates John Harrington — running for Moua’s seat — and Rena Moran, who is seeking Thao’s seat.
