Feds didn’t come through yet on flood declaration, so special session postponed

Legislators will have to wait a bit to deal with the flood relief: Gov. Tim Pawlenty has postponed the special session because there is not yet a federal disaster declaration.

The special session had been tentatively scheduled for Monday.

The governor asked Washington for the disaster declaration on Oct. 1, after the Sept. 22 floods caused severe damage in many southern Minnesota counties.

The governor said he intends to reschedule the special session as soon as the declaration comes.
