Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak attended the European Green Capital conference in Stockholm, Sweden, last month, and spoke on a panel about “Green Success Stories: American Best Practices.”
On his blog, the mayor said he had lots to talk about there: “From building capacity for jobs and businesses in the clean-energy economy and launching the country’s largest bike-share system, to connecting residents to healthy, locally-grown, sustainable food and helping them save money and energy in their homes, we are building sustainability into everything we do.”
He was there with a National League of Cities delegation, along with officials from 10 other U.S. cities. He said he hoped to learn more about how European cities are “meeting the challenges of growth, sustainable economic development and enhancing the environment.”
The Minnesota Daily has a story on his trip to the conference.
