Three debates scheduled for Bachmann/Clark race

An agreement has been reached for three debates later this month between U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann and her challengers, Democrat Tarryl Clark of the DFL and Bob Anderson of the Independence Party.

They’re now scheduled to meet:

  • Oct. 26: Chamber Of Commerce, St. Cloud
  • Oct. 28: Minnesota Public Radio, “Midday” with Gary Eichten
  • Oct. 31: KSTP, “At Issue” with Tom Hauser

Clark, though, wants more debates:

“Holding three debates in the last few days of the campaign — only one of which is actually in the 6th District, and none of which members of the public at large are able to attend — is simply insufficient. It’s an insult to the voters of the 6th District who deserve to be able to hear from and talk to their Member of Congress,” said Zach Rodvold, campaign manager for Clark.

I’m surprised Bachmann agreed to any debates. She really has nothing to gain. By delaying them, she gets to minimize any losses.
