Tom Emmer, the Republican candidate for governor who’s still waiting for the final election outcome, met with Gov. Tim Pawlenty this morning.
Emmer had spent the weekend in Canada attending a son’s hockey game and hasn’t spoken publicly since finishing second Tuesday night by fewer than 9,000 votes, a small-enough margin to trigger a recount.
Pawlenty spokesman Bruce Gorden told the Strib that Emmer and the governor met in the governor’s Capitol office. Also there for the 45-minute meeting were Pawlenty’s chief of staff, management and budget commissioner Tom Hanson and an Emmer staffer.
Pawlenty also plans to meet this week with DFL candidate Mark Dayton, who’s leading going into the recount.
