Emmer makes first comments since election night at 1 p.m.

Tom Emmer will hold a press conference at 1 p.m., marking his first public appearance since (apparently) losing Tuesday’s election.

The Republican candidate will reportedly talk about continuing the battle until every vote is counted, says AP’s Brian Bakst on a Twitter post.

As of 9:30 a.m., DFLer Mark Dayton led Emmer by 8,751 votes, according to the secretary of state’s website, which updates totals whenever changes are reported by county counters.

Minnesota Public Radio and TheUpTake.org plan to cover the press conference live.
