Today at the U of M’s Humphrey Institute, top election officials will hold a panel discussion on the coming recount in the governor’s race.

Ramsey County’s election director, Joe Manksy, and his counterpart in Hennepin County, Rachel Smith, will be among the experts talking about what’s next in the Dayton/Emmer race.

Smith may have to explain, yet again, about the glitch on Election Night that temporarily reported a double-counting of many votes in Hennepin County. But after that, they can get down to the nitty-gritty of canvasses, recounts and Lizard People. Political scientist Larry Jacobs will moderate.

It’s at 3:30 p.m. today in the Cowle’s Auditorium at the Humphrey Institute, 301 19th Ave. S., Minneapolis. The Center for the Study of Politics and Governance is the sponsor.
